I’ve been managing portfolios for individual clients since 1991. Before I became a fee-only advisor, I was both a retail and institutional stockbroker for New York Stock Exchange firms. I co-authored two books on mutual fund investing: Pick Winning Mutual Funds (John Wiley & Sons) and Winning With Index Mutual Funds (AMACOM). I’ve also written articles for various publications, including Financial Planning magazine and InvestmentNews.
I structure clients’ portfolios to reflect their individual circumstances and risk tolerances. While investing has always been a tough business, it has become even tougher in the last few years. You can’t eliminate risk, but you can control it with significant allocations to bonds, convertible securities, and, very occasionally, steeply discounted closed-end funds and cash.
I never lose sight of the fact that it’s my clients’ hard-earned money I’m working with, so it’s very important that they are comfortable with their investments. I do as much as I can to educate them about their portfolios, and transactions are made only after getting their specific OK. I enjoy working with clients, and I invite you to call me at 209-546-9734 if you want to explore the possibility of becoming a client.
